Tenkawa - Magical Valley

Tenkawa - Main Shrine - Tenkawa Grand Benzaiten Shrine is geographically located in the center of a triangle whose corners are Koya, Yoshino, and Kumano, the three great holy places of Japan.

The main shrine entrance from below. Tenkawa shrine is regarded as one of several centers of divine energy in the world.

Stately cedars lead to the top of the stairs and the shrine's main entrance. The shrine site has been a focus for many of Japan's spiritual leaders since 700 A.D.

Tenkawa shrine is surrounded by a unique lantern design. Most are black, some are gold in the upper shrine area.

Peaceful forests invite walks along "Heaven's River" that winds through this mystical valley.
